Summary

Historians suggest Democrats might have fared better against Donald Trump by embracing the economic issues championed by Senator Bernie Sanders, who has long pushed for a focus on “bread-and-butter” concerns for working-class voters.

Despite Kamala Harris’s progressive policies, polls showed Trump was favored on economic issues, particularly among working-class and Hispanic voters.

Historian Leah Wright Rigueur argued that Sanders’ messaging on economic struggles could be key for future Democratic strategies.

Sanders himself criticized the party for “abandoning” the working class, which he said has led to a loss of support across racial lines.

All of these unions endorsed Harris. In the wake of Trump’s victory last night, here’s what they’re saying about how they’ll move forward.

Hey Jordan, sorry for the delay, but I just saw your comment. I just checked NSFW so we should be good now. Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize the photo was in NSFW territory but I will keep that in mind in the future. Thanks again.

The main problem with Zionism is trying to create a Jewish homeland by kicking out or killing the people who have been living there for the last few thousand years, the Palestinians. That's been going on for around 100 years, but really took off in 1947-48, when the state of Israel was created. Mass killings, expulsions, land theft. More in 1967, and now even more in 2023-24.

Doesn't sound like self-determination to me.

I just learned about this around 11:45pm ET November 4. I signed up as a swing-state voter, and in 5 minutes got connected with 2 safe-state voters who agreed to vote for Jill Stein as a swap for my (very reluctant) vote for Harris. I feel much better now. :-)

You should look at my post history a little harder. I have posted a lot on Palestine, and very few have centered on Harris. I consider the election choices very painful for anyone who wants to keep Trump out while not supporting an administration which is clearly collaborating in a genocide with Israel. Most likely I will hold my nose and vote for Harris, but I'm not sure yet. If I don't, I would be voting for Jill Stein.
