Would using a VPN remedy this?

I was on Memmy but it seems to be abandoned so I switched to Avelon. It’s great!

Yep! I never have caffeine without l-theanine.

[–] minorsecond@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I'll take some. I'm already taking it but I'll double up on my dose today.

Right, but I'm worried about federation. Wouldn't that mean that the CSAM would end up on my server as well?

[–] minorsecond@lemm.ee 42 points 1 year ago (6 children)

I'm so glad I didn't end up spinning up my own instance like I was planning. I feel sorry for the mods and admins.

I'm super drowsy even though I had some caffeine. I'm drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods, but is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

How do you make yourself feel better after a poor night of sleep?

Edit: It went well! The director even said, "we should just hire you now!" However, I have one more panel interview. Time for a nap.

I compete in powerlifting and ham radio when I have the time.

Yeah dogpile. I think it was kind of a meta search engine.

They’d better fucking give us a mugshot.

[–] minorsecond@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

It works decently. I use it.

[–] minorsecond@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah that would be horrible

Rich Men North of Richmond, by Oliver Anthony

I'm nearly finished rereading 1984 and my appetite for dystopian books is whetted. What are some other great ones I should check out?

I’ve seen this recently and have been wondering. My guess was that I’ve upvoted this user three other times but that’s probably way off.

To be more specific, my parents raised my siblings and me to "respect" them, saying "yes sir, and "no ma'am" to everything they said. Spankings, all of that. Typical super conservative evangelical parents. Before I learned better, I was that way too. I went to college and since then have embraced the left more and more.

They'll say things now and then that are really distasteful politically. Today I made an Instagram post about DeSantis lying about liberal states allowing post-birth abortions and I got several family members railing against me. I'm tired of staying quiet when this happens. I think that, because how my parents raised me, I'm afraid to speak my mind to older family members. Fuck that though.

Has anyone else had this experience? I wonder if therapy would help. I just don't know how to explain it.

I run Gentoo, which has a telemetry use flag. This will enable telemetry for a number of packages.

I hate telemetry on non-FOSS software like Windows, but is there real harm in doing it with FOSS software? I like to think I'd be helping the devs create better software.

Speceficially the telemetry use flag. On one hand, fuck telemetry, but on the other hand, I trust FOSS developers to do the right thing vs the likes of Microsoft and Google.

My wife and I moved to the area a few years ago but still haven't gone on one of these. It looks like there are a ton of them, so I'm wondering if you folks know of any good ones?

I haven't gotten an update in about a week which is strange for me. I've had this dependency conflict for a while:

WARNING: One or more updates/rebuilds have been skipped due to a dependency conflict:

dev-python/docutils:0

(dev-python/docutils-0.20.1:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) USE="" ABI_X86="(64)" PYTHON_TARGETS="python3_11 (-pypy3) -
   python3_10 (-python3_12)" conflicts with
  <dev-python/docutils-0.20[python_targets_python3_11(-)] required by (dev-python/sphinx-5.3.0:0/0::gentoo, installed) USE="-doc -
   latex -test" ABI_X86="(64)" PYTHON_TARGETS="python3_11 (-pypy3) -python3_10"

Would that prevent me from getting updates? I'm able to install things just fine.

In the lower right of the screenshot, what is that icon for? I must have missed one of the changelogs.

I hate having to work on my R720 because getting it back into the rails is a major pain in the ass. It barely fits, so I have to wrestle with it for half an hour to get it to fit.

Is there a trick to this?

Any time I try to comment, I get a language not allowed error.

Anyone else get this?

I have the option to hide read posts enabled, but they’re still showing up.

Am I expecting the wrong thing or is there something else I need to do?
