Qr code to the nongolfers subreddit, or the lemmy community if there is one, so she can see the error in her golfing ways

True, but it is relevant when comparing religions to ideologies. It's probably more accurate to say that religions are a subset of ideologies, with some unique features

Religion tends to have untestifiable claims and poor epistemology built in and encouraged tho. It's rare for ideologies to have that.

He can't just reveal to his audience directly that he thinks christianity isn't true

Yeah I only really use it for personal stuff for that reason. There's a vscode plugin, but last time I tried it it was really slow

"you really don’t think that de Dutch NOC would send someone to Paris who IS a real risk? No, he isn’t a risk.”

Given how often powerful groups cover up and protect pedos in their ranks, yeah I do think they would send someone who's a risk. It's not surprising, just disappointing

Iirc you want one with a wide beam, so cars on your left and right + intersections get light coming at them

  • check out the forks over knives meal planner, it's a pretty nice tool which gives you the grocery list for the week and all the recipes. During the pandemic that plus instacart was an amazing combo. Or if you want to plan it yourself/don't want to pay, rice, beans, lentils, soy (tempeh, tofu, soy curls or tvp, etc), potatoes, and frozen fruits and veggies are your friends. With those things plus spices you've got curry, stir fry, rice+beans, tacos/burritos, sandwiches, tofu scramble (breakfast burritos), stew, chili, soup, and a lot more
  • I mainly hang out with vegans and don't eat at tables where animal products are eaten, usually people seem pretty understanding if I say "i think eating animal products is unethical, so I prefer not to be around people doing that", although it's definitely not easy. A general trick I use for anxiety which works here is to look at the situation and try to use a sort of first principles approach: is what I'm doing hurting anybody? if not then it's probably fine, although social costs have to be weighed, but if I'm not hurting anybody and I'm open and honest about my intentions, where I'm coming from, and why I'm doing what I'm doing, it tends to work out
  • Dealing with doing your best and fresh starts is tough, especially living in a world where pretty much everything we do or buy causes some harm. I'm working on getting to a point where I don't need to contribute to that kind of stuff, but it's a lot of work. I think the best bet is to make plans to push society to change in positive ways, so people can live without causing so much harm. Seriously consider the question "what can I do to fix the broken systems our society runs on", don't take action for actions sake but really do your best to think about what you think needs to change and what you can realistically do to change it (including how you can work with others towards common goals), and then go do that. BREAKFAST by half alive also has a really nice lyric for starting again on stuff, it hits real nice when you listen to it: "It's a second chance, it won’t be your last" https://genius.com/Halfalive-breakfast-lyrics
