This is how Signal should have been designed in the first place.

I use whatever this guy recommends to use.

Warp is 2 products. A wireguard-go VPN that changes your IP and uses cloudflare's network instead of your ISP. This service doesn't necessarily require the 1.1.1.1 app (desktop app is called cloudflared) since it's just Wireguard under the hood.

And Warp is also a VPN tunnel that allows you to reach services hosted on Cloudflare's network with their client cloudflared as you just described. This allows you to make any service available on the internet and further manage its access using Cloudflare's firewall options or Zero Trust for secure private applications.

The latter use is more popular than the former in my observance since not many people I know aside from the Chinese use it as a VPN. (mainly for circumventing their national firewall).

It's 100% a cultural (deb) issue. Discord wouldn't distribute deb files if users were not accustomed to downloading package installation files like savages do in Windows. As many other software vendors do with their "Linux" packages.

One more strike for the deb monoculture (read complacency).

Great. Can't wait for this update to reach mobile devices. More people need to realize how scammy these tech mega-corps are.

You're gonna need better sources if you are going to convince anyone that phones are listening to you with mic permission disabled.

That said, I think you know what to do if you are getting your news from the RMS sub. None of these privacy violations, if they exist, would happen to you if you used a Linux phone.

For someone on the way out, he sure does make a lot of noise about unpredictable weather patterns.

Cloudflare ironically has a VPN-ish service that no one talks about called Cloudflare Warp.

You have a lot of theory but unfortunately proof is needed for the paranoid claims you insist on making.

Am wary of the potential of developers abusing Android permissions in their apps and doing unwanted things on our devices. As a privacy enthusiast I try to limit the number of app installs to essential need only.

But Google Play store have a review process for vetting apps and Android in general has a strong sandbox for apps.

You can pin the Nvidia driver with flatpak mask appname and update the rest of your apps.
