Now with the accelerating advancement of society and communications it is easily possible for a smart and motivated kid to learn and develop skills quickly and at a much more advanced level....

So that kid could easily more informed than just some dumb ass adult who thinks they have authority. So previous hierarchies begin to break down and kid ain't taking shit anymore unless you deprive them desperately.
