Hell yeah! My father in law used to take his kids here to sit and listen to the pilots and ATC’s talk on his scanner during the air show practices.
Shameless plug for my friends at Hot Dish Pantry, just north on Howell. The pierogi (and everything they make) are CRAZY good. Definitely a good choice for a runway picnic.
If a recipe calls for it I’ll usually include some for more depth, but it’s not a flavor I have much love for.

I got into 3D printing during COVID and it led me to my local makerspace, where I’m now learning woodworking to make a filament rack and other cool stuff. Same for electronics - I hadn’t assembled a circuit since college, but I’ve done several simple to moderate projects to improve my printers this year.
No Mail Monday, but I won’t remember until I check it anyways.
I came to the finish line of my basement cleanout project yesterday. Only took a year - you got this!
I’d love to know all of that. I just don’t ever trust a private corporation to safeguard my highly personal and unique DNA information from:
- a foreign scammer looking to make a buck
- my government looking to close a case
- a foreign government looking for kompromat
- a health care company looking for reasons to deny coverage.
It’s too easy for a company to skimp on staff and digital security and then say “we’re soooo sowwwy, have 3 months of identity fraud protection on us” if they find a breach.
Plot twist: She’s mining shitcoin with the courthouse electricity. She’s smart enough to know that’s the only paycheck she’s getting.
Judge: “Counsel, why is your laptop running so loudly?”
Lawyer: “It’s…uh…fuming at the witch hunt that my client has endured.”

A heads up if you have a G-Sync monitor from that same era: it may not do variable rate with Freesync. I was ready to pull the trigger and upgrade my 1080 Ti to an AMD card when I caught that detail. So now I need to justify the cost of a new main monitor as well if I want to have smooth variable refresh. Good luck!
