I expect as federation becomes more common we'll see patterns like user servers, community servers, archive/redundancy servers, and eventually it'll be less clustered. My instance that this version of me is on is much snappier than lemmy.world but it's also federated differently and that's very obvious when searching or browsing all

Lol it's not virtue signaling it's malicious compliance. My workplace has vacation and sick days pull from the same incredibly small pool. They're also very anti work from home. Healthcare and homelessness were both better than the US up until the last decade of the Soviet Union. If capitalism needs it's boom and bust cycles and we think that 40k+ people dying from joblessness every recession is acceptable surely we can afford the same level of devastation when discussing socialism right?

ublock origin on my PC works amazing. I forget yt has ads most of the time. If web drm becomes a thing I'll hopefully have a pinhole in front of my traffic by then

Find ways to reduce your energy consumption:

  • Buy higher quality clothes, ideally less imported.
  • If you can, plant vegetables and stuff that you can eat or shop at local farmer's markets.
  • Reduce water use
  • Cut back on things that use plastics in abundance

Because the shareholders get the other half

It could even be that as more and more of our lives gets funneled into these machines we're seeing less literacy and therefore more typos to make the algorithms second guess themselves. If 10 users for every 100 type fir instead of for and don't correct it the algo starts to see that as possible correct
