I just started reading P. Djeli Clark's A Master of Djinn but I'm not far enough in to know if I'll really like it. So far so good, though.

I don't think it's 嗎, looks more like 吧 to me, which also has question like properties. But you're definitely right about the question mark not being included until much later. The character alone says it's a question.

This a thousand times. I mainly lurked on Reddit and I'm trying to actually contribute here. Sometimes I fear that no one will care what I have to say, but someone needs to start the conversation.

City of Beasts by Isabel Allende. Didn't realize it was for young adults until after I bought it, but it's pretty good so far!

It's actually closer to 1.5 billion TOTAL speakers of English. Most English speaking people learned it as a second language.

Edit: billion not million

These are incredibly cool! I don't have the funds for one now but I've put one in my Etsy cart and will buy it when I get paid.

Hello! You can just call me Gone. (They/them)

I'm in my thirties and have been living in Taiwan for about five and a half months after living in the US for all my life. I teach English but will probably move back to America at the end of January next year. My goal when I get back is to teach English to immigrants in the US.

Lately I've been trying to learn Mandarin Chinese so I can speak with the people around me (also it's just a cool language) and watching all the anime that Netflix has in Taiwan. I like doing outdoor activities like going for walks and shorts hikes.

As for music I've mostly been listening to music in Mandarin, since it's helping me learn the language. Astro Bunny, Good Band and Shadow Project have been my go-tos.
