"Free" is a simplification. Bad actors can hurt lemmy - however it is also easier for the individual to fight back. If an instance acts unfairly, an individual can choose to ignore that instance and not lose all of Lemmy - they would still have access to all other instances.

Ugh, I was excited for a neutral and factual article, but this person is just regurgitating Russian propaganda. I could only stomach half of this article. The stupidest part is when he says that Russia invaded to make Ukraine neutral. Ha! Is pure fantasy. If they had taken over like planned, they would have made Ukraine a puppet. Plenty of historical evidence.

He keeps talking about how NATO expands and seeks to expand, like it was conquering territory, and ignores that countries join NATO voluntarily, and can also voluntarily leave any time
