I live in a purple state (which will turn red this next time around) in the US and have had a hammer and sickle on my car for a year now. I've also got a pin.

I've yet to hear even a comment on either one, and I see lots of people, specifically with the pin. I'm going to go ahead and assume you're in America (perhaps falsely) but am I just an anomaly or are we vastly overestimating how widespread violence towards that stuff really is?

My reasoning behind wearing the hammer and sickle is that I figure if we are too scared to openly identify as communists, how are we ever going to be brave enough to spread the word through organization and actually spark revolution?

This is all more of a question/open ended comment than an addition to the thread so my apologies, lol.

Absolutely, social media and these technologies can be very harmful. I agree with most of what you said except the last part.

We are very close to a drop in living standards, no matter where you are in the world. Climate change will be awful. Economic struggle due to capitalism will continue. I agree that better times are ahead, but things will get worse before they get better.

Strap in.

Isn't Bloomberg a propaganda outlet?

I don't doubt that we are in for major economic and climate collapse in America, but I just want to avoid criticisms saying I pick and choose which articles are legit and not from a shady source.

Asking in good faith just don't know

I know, it's absurd.

Tragic, really. I'm still going to try to work with what I've got, though. I wish you luck in the times ahead, friend.

Agreed. Alot of people understand that climate collapse is a real thing but don't really grasp the full picture of how large of an issue it is and, like you said, the role it will play in collapse. That or they push it to the back of their minds and continue on their lives of comfort, myself included (though I am getting better).

I'm trying to make a network of people who can become self sufficient with me but so far many people blow me off or call me a doomer with no further conversation. I can't do it alone, obviously.
