It does! So it's probably because DDG uses bing.
QuestionMark
Can confirm this. I tried with bing. Same result. That was why it wasn't working, because of bing. Thanks! I'll probably to switch to something else now.
Searching "PeerTube" doesn't return any results. peertube (all lower case) doesn't return anything either. What's funny is that "pertube" returns the correct results for "PeerTube". It seems like it works like this: If the IP requesting the search is from my country and it's searching PeerTube or peertube it's going to block the search. But why should it?! PeerTube isn't blocked here. YouTube is though.
Yes, I tried with SearX, and it worked.
It was on moderate. Turning it off didn't make any changes.
I just tried it with a VPN and it worked. Turning it off and refreshing the resulted in no results again.
But I can open https://joinpeertube.org/ without a VPN. This confuses me.
Hello;
Here is my explanation why open-sourcing a program is a good idea. I hope it helps you.
Anyone who can will be able to read the code (and that means if someone tries to add malicious code people would notice), and it also makes it easier to contribute to the program, programmer or not. Programmers can fix the program on their own and then ask for their fix to be added. Or, if they don't know why something isn't working (or don't have time, or aren't programmers at all), they can create an issue: it's like a post, and anyone can comment on it. If the main programmer/s didn't find out what was wrong, then someone else might.
It's a small community but I like !engrish@vlemmy.net (I really think we need a better way to link communities.)
I'm really hoping for Infinity for Lemmy... My first experience with reddit was from Infinity. That app is great.
How are you supposed to comment or post to earn Karma if you're blocked because of having low Karma?! It is also bad for new users.
