Print it out and say mean things to it when you're not feeling nice

Yes. The police are much more of a threat than any other group.

I understand that a sheriff signs off for a carry permit in most places

In Maryland, when I tried to purchase a handgun, you had to also have a permission slip from the local sheriff to purchase a handgun at all, even if it stayed locked in a safe in your home

When I went to purchase a handgun, I was told I would need the permission of the local sheriff, in addition to the safety course.

I'm not going to jump through hoops to exercise a right that protects me from the same people who are attempting to hold my rights hostage.

Also, how many of them can legally carry a gun in Maryland?

I left in 2014 when you had to beg for permission to even purchase a handgun. Have things become better? Since the politicians are still proposing things like this, I assume not.

This will pretty much only affect the friends/family of politicians, as they are the only ones that can get a permit to legally carry in Maryland.

I have a framework, pretty happy with it - Arch installed without any hitches and runs well. Only downside is how long it took to go from deposit to actually paying/shipping.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Form_4473

A Firearms Transaction Record, or ATF Form 4473, is a seven-page form prescribed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) required to be completed when a person proposes to purchase a firearm from a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder, such as a gun dealer.[1]

Form 4473 contains the purchaser’s name, address, date of birth, government-issued photo ID, National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background check transaction number, and a short affidavit stating that the purchaser is eligible to purchase firearms under federal law.

The firearm dealer is required to record some information from the Form 4473 into a "bound-book", called an "Acquisition and Disposition Log”.[6] The dealer must keep the Form 4473 on file for the lifetime of the FFL, and is required to surrender the log book to the ATF upon retirement from the firearms business.

The ATF is allowed to inspect, as well as request a copy of, the Form 4473 from the dealer during the course of a criminal investigation. In addition, the sale of two or more handguns to a person in a five-day period must be reported to the ATF on Form 3310.4.

ATF form 4473 is de-facto registration of every legally owned gun in the United States of America

"Developers still can't include language about going directly to their websites for a discounted rate"

"However, the rulings establised that Apple's so-called "anti-steering" rules—language prohibiting developers from mentioning cheaper or alternative purchasing options that might be available outside of an app—were anticompetitive."

Well, I guess it's time to sue again since Apple is refusing to respect the court ruling.

The 60 days of employment is a requirement of the WARN act (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worker_Adjustment_and_Retraining_Notification_Act_of_1988)

When employees are laid off at Google, they lose access to any systems, can't contact co-workers in the usual manner, etc.

Google severance has been increasing worse since they had their first 12,000 employees get laid off.
