Two games I was looking forward to, both launching on the same day. One has Denuvo (civ 7), the other has not (KCD2). Guess which one I'm going to be playing.

Rule of thumb:

  • are you making fun or otherwise mocking someone?
  • are you doing it for any "bad reason" whatsoever?
  • are you doing something that is/was primarily done by others for "bad reasons", historically?
  • are you doing something that other groups started doing as a replacement for something else that they were not allowed to (that you are)?

I'm half asleep so I may have forgotten something but if I didn't, then answering No to all of those should be the minimum thing you do.

Unlikely to ever happen, but Xenogears.

I think a good representation would be to put the trolley already running over Palestine and then having to choose between keeping things as they are or adding the others + speeding up the train.

Or, changing the premise a little further, show the person as choosing between continuation, upgrade and using his own body to derail the trolley.

I get what you mean, but I think the point behind this image is not to say that doing what you call the "bare minimum" is enough, but to try and get more people to actually do that bare minimum.

Did not expect to see a Croc game ever again. Now all we're missing is Gex.

Some projects will end up being a waste of resources, but others end up printing a ton of money.

I'm just curious because I've made some jokes in a thread about snipers before and I wonder if that triggered anything. But now with this article I realize that even if that one didn't, my recent comment "I wish I could know if I have ever been investigated by the FBI" might have. And if neither did, then maybe this new one might.

Crap, I might go as well and say "hey FBI, investigate me". So that I can now be sure.

...unless Lemmy is still out of their automatic tools?

I considered adding more to the joke here but got afraid it would be going too far. I think I'll write a short story about someone who gets so paranoid about knowing if he's on the FBI list or not that they end up actually doing some terrorism act just to be sure they are.

In my head this scene was my own idea so unless I completely forgot about it (which would not surprise me) it wasn't

Fun fact; Hitler is in the good place.

... It was a technicality.

Flashback:

Architect: "man this Hitler dude is so awful, whoever kills him goes to the good place, no questions asked."

I don't know much about rivers but based on the floods we had here in Brazil early this year, I don't think that house will be there by the end of the century.

Anything exciting going on in your field of work this year? Or breakthroughs in science, new technologies developed, things like that.

Some news that would be completely mundane today but scary or shocking in the past.
