So it turns out all of the rails in my old blueprint book are now labeled as legacy rails. They are semi compatible with the new rail system, but not completely. To the credit of the devs, they work together so seamlessly that I didn't notice until I hit the 50 hour mark for my current save.

But that's the issue, at least for me. About half of my rail network is legacy rails, the rest the new stuff. And worse, the grid doesn't perfectly align between them, so creating new blueprints that align with the old rails doesn't really work.

From what I can tell, it doesn't really effect anything. But if any of you are about to start a new save and use an old blueprint book, it's probably worth updating it all.

A potentially good option if you're on Android is putting it in your secure folder. It's basically just a sub directory for all your files, notes, and pictures, but it an encrypted form.

So if you're technical enough to understand jow to enter a password (most people), then you have an easy to use option. Just don't forget your password, and don't set it to something easy to crack. It's the same rules for any other password.

I'm sure there are similar options for windows/mac/ios

But if you're a more technical user, by all means it is in your interest to encrypt the whole thing.

Absolute worst case you could always keep track of it as a raw text/markdown/excel/Libre calc/whatever your preference is. You're not going to get any predictions or useful data out.

But it would at least provide a record for your doctor if need be. And as long as you encrypt the device you store it on, or the directory its stored in, it's relatively safe to do so.

That must have been a bizarre debugging session.

I briefly saw this meme on my dad's phone while he was browsing facebook. He's a right wing Trump voter.

So take from that what you will.

Last night my in game alarm went off for low power. I was about to fix it, so I muted it. But then I realized I was done for the night, so I turned it back on, saved, and exited.

So there is no way I forget what my next task is.

That's a real "factorio teaches you software engineering" kind of moment.

Disgusting, I love it

Yeah. It's gonna be a shit show.

Nobody will step up, because manufacturing electronics like this is incredibly expensive, and any new president in 2028 could instantly drop Trump's dumb ass tariffs.

So you'd be going into an expensive, already risky business, with an even bigger risk that one day the competition suddenly drops their prices by ~40% due to a drop in tariffs. Nobody's gonna take that risk.

And even if somebody successfully did take on that risk, they'd charge just under the price of the electronics that have the tariffs baked into the price, so congrats, no matter what we'd esentially be paying a ~40% markup on electronics, and that's before accounting for all the businesses that raise prices even further than the tariffs to account for the drop in demand, and supply chain halt.

Nah, he's a nazi. Fuck him

Christmas is a losing battle for a consumer side strike. We gotta pick our battles, and that ain't one of them. Pretty much any other time of the year would be fine, because for the most part people would only be personally sacrificing consuming things for themselves.

I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but this area has been hit particularly hard by creepers. If you come across this chest, please donate some dirt/sand to fill these holes in!

I couldn't think of a name for this bridge/river, so if you think of one you are more than welcome to name it.
