Why do that when lying and grifting is cheaper?

Ya know, when you put it like that, it adds a whole other layer of fuckedupedness on the rotten lasagna of history.

I've eaten a few cougars in my time and gotta say, taste varies wildly depending on lifestyle and hygiene.

If it was 20, maybe even 10 years later, I might have been diagnosed with ADHD as a child. But I wasn't disruptive and I scored extremely well on tests. In the 80s, that overruled pretty much everything else. And when I had trouble later, it was because I was "lazy." This is why I dislike the narrative that "gifted means everything came easily until it didn't and then they failed because they didn't face hardship." I didn't have trouble because I wasn't challenged. I had trouble because I had undiagnosed ADHD and autism, but got slapped with the lazy label early and often. Nothing I did was ever enough, and I was told my whole life that I just wasn't trying hard enough. All because I learned to read before kindergarten and scored in the 99th percentile on standardized testing.

Meanwhile, the 5-6 people from my elementary gifted classes that graduated with me all kept excelling through school and into their careers. Which also contradicts the easy narrative that sprang up around "gifted." Not sure how many of them had concurrent neurodivergencies... but I was the weird one even among the weird kids lol.

I chanced upon the livestream a minute before launch. It didn't get me quite as choked up as Webb, but it was still good to see.

A People's History of the United States is what opened my eyes, quite a few years ago at this point.

If you're familiar with the English versions, navigating the menus in Japanese isn't bad. The whole roster can be edited, and part of that is being able to change the names to romaji/English. I believe there's a patch available to take care of most if not all of that. Let me see if I saved the post where someone else told me about it.

Back in the day I did all of those edits by hand on the physical cart. I still have the cart... one day I'll boot it up again in the hope that the battery hasn't died.

Edit: I think this is it

I would like to introduce both of you to the wonders of Virtual Pro Wrestling and VPW2, Japan-only games using the same engine. VPW2 tops No Mercy IMO, if for nothing else than by the sheer breadth of the roster. It's just a shame that out of the box so many wrestlers needed so much tweaking to get around the lack of licensing. But the fact that it was possible to "fix" everyone was fantastic.

I haven't played any Breaker games before. Seems okayish. Controls are better than SDBA at least. This is probably nostalgia glasses but it still doesn't feel as crisp as the PS2 Versus games. Feels kinda mashy/mushy. Or, you know... skill issue. 😒

The editor lets you get really in the weeds with coloring and markings. But holy crap the button commands are all over the place. All the fun is in the top half... no mixing and matching legs and waists.

Looks and runs well enough on Switch, but the load times leave a lot to be desired. And the lack of cross platform play is killer.

In an earlier gaming age this would be a day one purchase for me just to say, "Yes, more like this please, and keep improving." But I'm wary due to the prevalence of endless monetization and drip-feeding content, especially with the focus on online play, events, etc. I think I'm gonna let this play out for a bit. But I'm glad I got a chance to give it a go.

I would really appreciate a way to tag users, especially with the shitshow that is the ongoing decline of [insert favorite hero/villain here]. Blocking bad faith and misinformation actors gets them out of my face, but that's one less downvote. On the flip side, it's nice to keep track of the chill folks as well (like with Apollo's friend feature).

Edit: maybe also a setting to collapse certain tags by default, still hiding the rage bait but with the option to interact.

My bathroom tub fixtures have seen better days. Pretty sure they're original to the house (~60 years). We have fairly hard water, and the prior owners were not the best at maintenance so no clue how long these slow leaks have been going on. But the shower handle is stuck hard on the valve, and the bath spigot is crumbling away and similarly fused in place. Hot and cold come off easily.

Does anyone have any tips for freeing the one handle and spigot? I've tried light tapping with a mallet on the back of the handle to no avail. The spigot seems bound pretty tightly, to the point where I'm concerned about damaging the pipe if I apply too much torque.

As for the leaks, I haven't decided if I'm going to just replace the valves, or try fiddling with/replacing the packing nuts. This is my first time messing with plumbing, but either way seems straightforward enough after watching a few videos.

Any tips/tricks/suggestions appreciated, thanks!

I was very confused until I saw the Bandai Namco logo and remembered both IPs are owned by the same entity. Now I'm only a little confused.
