Only those 75ish million. No more, no less.

Although it’s also worth noting that not everyone who voted for Trump supports everything he does. In fact I suspect most don’t, but they’ve been fooled into thinking his “business acumen” will make their lives materially better.

I don’t even know what this text is in reference to and I have no concrete suggestions immediately. But I will be thinking, connecting, and sharing in the coming months as a strategy emerges. Trumpism can still be defeated. The election was plan A but it’s time to come up with plan B. I am thinking that it’s going to take massive organized civil disobedience. We directly disrupt their ability to govern and harm marginalized people.

But it’s going to take more than just me, so I ask everyone here to be ready and participate in whatever capacity you can.

How about we do something about it instead of expecting someone else to?

Yeah I’m not really sure how to overcome this. Maybe povoq is correct that money printing is an easier solution, since it doesn’t require direct participation from the wealthy.

I’m still interested in experimenting with this idea though. Most other forms of wealth besides money have downsides, even gold. Hoarding physical goods is harder to do secretly and requires storage and security costs.

Oh to be clear 2 meters will absolutely devastate some areas. But it won’t look like entire counties inundated as we see in this map.

I was recently in the Yucatán and their tourist season is basically driven by seaweed these days because it grows so much in the warmer temps. In summer the beaches are covered in rotten seaweed and no one wants to travel there. I imagine Florida will start to experience this as well.

I see, the meme makes a lot more sense now. I was like this isn’t a meme it’s just a map of the future of Florida lol.

That said this seems very extreme and exaggerated for 2075. Sea level rise is one of the slowest aspects of climate change. Generally the worst case is thought to be about 2 meters by 2100 which is significant but not enough to affect non-coastal areas.

3/3, at least according to the realtors. Although one of them really is not a bedroom by any reasonable definition since it doesn’t have a real door or closet. It’s more of an office.

Sorry for the clickbait title but I thought a great video from a great but not well known channel.

Same title as the article posted earlier but I think this was a very moving and important message not just relating to recent events with Aaron Bushnell and Gaza but also more broadly.

One of the most hopeful and practical podcasts I’ve listened to in a long time. I know this show has been linked here before but I think this specific episode is worthy of a listen to those who are interested in working directly at making the world a better place.
