Reminds me of that scene in Interstellar where a baseball game is interrupted by a dust storm. Some interesting world-building in that scene regarding the state of the game too.

I was rocking one of these plugged into an mp3 player circa 2007-2010.

It’s funny, I love the DeLorean/Tron style, but to me the CT looks nothing like that. Both of those styles have a certain sleekness to them, while nothing about the CT looks sleek.

That’s a great point. Don’t want the poor whittle CEOs to have to actually do any work for their ridiculous salaries.

Now he knows how us regular people feel when we have to fight insurance and the doctor’s billing office to get them to code/process the claim correctly and keep calling to bug them for the refund check and it still takes over a year. Welcome to the real word.

Sooo wheneve I take those online tests I always come up as non-autistic, but stuff like this makes me wonder what’s up. I find it very easy to befriend/spend time around autistic people. One will typically seek me out in social situations because we get along well (and I guess I don’t make him feel like a weirdo/outsider?) Hmmmm

So as someone who has never played LoL or any MoBA (or is it a DOTA?), can someone give me a run-down? Just generally toxic behavior?

My favorite gift is a Steam Gift Card.

Oh snap he was the manager in FotC! That’s pretty awesome then!

The article just mentioned ‘Jumanji’ and I didn’t recognize him from the picture.

I have no idea who that is but cool.

Hello all, I am a 39M whose wife (42F) was just diagnosed with ADHD. We’ve had a suspicion ever since our 6 year old was diagnosed and we started doing a deep dive into it and realizing a lot of the symptoms fit her. Even some of the memes from this community helped her to start looking into it herself. She is relieved to find out she’s not just ‘a disorganized slob’, that there is a reason for her struggles, but now the real work begins.

My question is: what do you wish your partner would have known/done for you? I want to be as supportive as possible and make sure I’m not contributing to any negative feelings, and help her find ways to build coping mechanisms. Just looking for any advice!

Just found out about this law that went into effect in 2021 in MD. HOAs or communities cannot require turf-only landscapes.

Just so tired of almost every time a doctor submits stuff to insurance, we have to be the ones to make multiple phone calls to both the doctor's office and insurance to iron everything out, figure out what the issue is (it's always a different issue), and basically be the go-between for the office and insurance. What am I paying $500+/month for?! It's like paying for the privilege of having an exhausting part-time job.

And yes, I understand that insurance wants to weasel out of paying anything, but this isn't even shadiness, just straight up incompetence and lack of communication/following procedures. The amount of emotional energy we have to spend untangling this stuff leaves us drained.

So excited for this - a sequel to Star Control 2.

So my wife and I were watching through Babylon 5 on Tubi. We've both never seen it and have really enjoyed it. We hit the end of season 4 and it really felt like the end of the show (I'm aware of the background issues and also that the season 5 finale was filmed for the end of season 4 but then shifted around) and we were very satisfied with where everything was left. We took a break to put a hold at our library on a DVD of the movies to watch "In the Beginning" before we started season 5. Got the DVD, started watching it, and my wife started falling asleep, so we stopped and just...haven't gone back. I can't explain it, but neither of us feel super motivated to continue even though we were really enjoying the show.

So, B5 fans who have watched the whole series, what can you say to motivate us to continue watching?!

Just to be clear, this isn’t my creation, just something I found and wanted to share.

Clips are from my favorite MST3K episode "The Undead". A delightfully dreadful film from 1957 directed by the king of B-movies, Roger Corman.

Aliens have not been discovered in South America after all. The doll-like figures, photos of which went viral online last year, are just that – dolls, according to scientists.

The controversial artifacts were seized by Peruvian customs agents in October and intended for "a Mexican citizen," the Associated Press reported.

Mexican journalist and self-described "UFOlogist" Jaime Maussan brought similar unidentified fraudulent objects in front of the Mexican congress last September, claiming that they had been recovered near Peru's ancient Nazca Lines and dated over 700 years old.

...

Experts with Peru's prosecutor's office analyzed the seized dolls, and forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada presented the results of their findings at a press conference for the Peruvian Ministry of Culture on Friday.

"They are not extraterrestrials, they are not intraterrestrials, they are not a new species, they are not hybrids, they are none of those things that this group of pseudo-scientists who for six years have been presenting with these elements," Estrada said.

The humanoid three-fingered dolls consisted of earth-bound animal and human bones assembled with modern synthetic glue, Estrada elaborated. It isn't the first time Maussan has had an otherworldly corpse debunked — he made similar claims in 2017.
