Because the time frame that TNG takes place in. It was a peaceful era and the Galaxy Class ship was designed for prolonged exploration and ambassador missions. Due to the long periods in space the Federation designed the ship to accommodate families of the Starfleet officers. That's also why the ship could separate, the battle bridge could go into combat while the civilians stayed behind in the saucer section. With these long voyages and family aboard they thought it was important to include mental health being an importance, so important that Troi was a bridge officer.

Voyager was a smaller ship made purely for scientific research and wasn't supposed to be gone for so long. Also, after the discovery of the Borg, the Federation changed their ship designs to have more combat in mind.

I switched to DuckDuckGo a while back and even that was beneficial. I can always tell when I'm on a different machine and I forget to switch the default search... It's wild how fast they've fallen.

These days I setup ollama with open webui to host my own ai. Then you can connect Searxng to that and have the AI search the web for you and return no nonsense results.

Yeah, they could conduct a peaceful transfer of power without the congratulations. They would be ruthlessly mocked for being sore losers, but they would be internally consistent at least.

Your vegetarian chili sounds better, and I'm definitely more on the carnivore side. I don't know if I've ever made chili with pinto beans. I'm a kidney and red bean man myself.

Exactly. His legacy is not doing what he promised, not being that bridge to the next generation. Only giving up his lust for being president when it was too late.

I'm not sure this one will pass congressional approval. I could see it easily going in either direction.

Now you're going to try and nit pick to back peddle? The economy was the star of the show and Kamala didn't have an easy to understand answer. The messaging, as always, was piss poor from the democrats.

A guajillo, as in one? You're proving my point here. And nothing spicy.

Rubio is probably the least controversial pick so far.

On the other hand I can see republican politicians pretending to be stunned in order to say one thing and do another. They get to pretend they don't like it for the political game and then actually support it.

Oops, someone is a believer in the big lie.

Exit polling overwhelmingly disagrees with you. The number one stated reason was the economy.
