For me that post wasn't about "faking it", but truly finding something in yourself you can take confidence in. So I guess, as you said, putting effort towards other things seems like it could work, and also having interests and projects is attractive! At least to me it is.

And i get being bitter and defensive if you have been hurt, but that is only going to push others away. I don't write this to give advice so apologies if it sounds like that. What you wrote just reminded me of a guy I know with mild autism who has a similar view on life and relationships. And he is cool, fun, knows a lot about interesting topics, and yeah is also oblivious about social clues but that is not a problem. What is a problem is when he is bitter, defensive and blames everything on others while not seeing what he does wrong (probably related with his condition but still). When he is like that, he is a chore to be around, and when people try to tell him he only feels attacked so he won't listen. As I said, no advice, just wanted to share, maybe it's not that similar to your case. Best of luck to you

Like someone said, 1,5M people are enough for me, specially if they are mostly active and it seems they are. Are they stats for mean user activity?

Nah, i think most people think it's ugly as fuck, because it is! And still I like the aesthetic? Or at least the idea of it.

For once, it's committed to the bit. Very few compromises were made on the looks, and those to comply with regulatory standards, not to make it more appealing. I'm a world where most cars look kinda the same, that counts something.

It's not trying to be beautiful. It's trying to be unique, divisive, to make you think "what is THAT thing??" whenever you encounter one, and on that grounds I'd say it succeeds.

However this kind of looks suffer greatly from the soddy build quality. If you are going for pure straight lines and angles you better make sure they are perfect, because of they are not people are going to notice and it's going to spoil the effect.

So, in summary, cool idea but poor execution, perhaps if Elon had let his designers do their work they could have pulled it off. Also Hyundai did better but with more compromises.

My mom once cut my ear a little while cutting my hair when i was like 4. I'm 33 and I still remember her the time she almost cut my ear off.

I used Reddit for years and maybe posted twice, here i just feel more compelled to participate. I find it hard to put into words, but Reddit feels like social media, which I hate, and lemmy feels more like an old school forum.

Why would more users be better? As far as I'm concerned whatever number of users are right now is the right one.
