Brother laser ftw

Ed: lol 3 comments out 3. Brother should be paying us for this.

As for why - no bloat or bullshit like most brands. Plug and print, at least via cable. (Can't say about wireless.) No need to worry about the printer refusing to print because one ink dropped below 90%, clogged printing heads or other inkjet crap. Good Linux support too.

Yup. I've never gone wrong with laser printers, and of the laser printers, I've never gone wrong with Brother. I've had both wired and wireless Brother printers and both have worked great. I tend to go with B&W because it's cheaper, and in any real world case where I've needed color, it's been worth it to go to an actual print shop to get color professionally done.

Also, re: laser printer vs. ink jet...For those who don't know--the technology for laser printing just leads to cheaper, longer-lasting ink than the tech of ink jets by its nature, even before you tack on predatory ink cartridge pricing that the ink jet world is afflicted with.

You can let a laser printer and its ink sit forever without use, and chances are it'll be just fine when you need it. With ink jets, the liquid ink can get weird and dry out, then you have to dig into your pocket and go buy another expensive-ass refill. Laser printer ink is powder so that doesn't happen with those types of printers. You buy it once, and barring a rare oddity, it'll just last and last and last.

Any Brother color laser. Total workhorse for cheap.

A lot of folks saying Brother. I agree. I’d also throw Epson in as well. We’ve owned only 2 printers in the last 15 years, both Epson. Ink is reasonably priced (especially now since we no longer use cartridges, we have one of their “fill with your own ink” reservoir systems, and even then the official ink is pretty cheap). They’re more expensive on the front end, but we’ll worth it imo.

Everyone is a fan of brother laser printers. Bought mine 6 years ago now and never had any issues.
