I've never tasted jackfruit. I've stocked it while working at Walmart tho. Shit's heavy. It could definitely double as a weapon.
Jackfruit can make a mean pulled pork.
It's surprising how much of the pulled pork flavour is the seasoning.
The one time I got jackfruit from an Asian market years ago, I recall it tasting great. Then you look at the jackfruit in brine at trader Joe's. It tastes as flavorless as water, as the gum you've been chewing for hours on end. It's terrible on its own but works great for pulled "pork".
