I fucked it up. There were 4 of them in the interview. COO, CEO, general manager and HR person.

I stumbled heaps. I'm annoyed at myself but it is what it is. I'll find something eventually.

There's every chance that you didn't do as badly as you thought but I won't jump to conclusions. Either way, you'll find something, you've found so many jobs in the past and made HUGE strides in your life that others wouldn't be able to grasp. Nobody can take that away from ya

It'll be alright, you will find something! You're a talented and smart dude, you'll find something that fits you.

Don't stress it, try and enjoy the sun and treat yourself!! πŸ’•

Sometimes I ask myself why I write stupid poetry because it sounds lame and stupid, and then I read the lyrics to some popular songs and realise my writing is perfectly fine.

Yeah, if you were curious what a 40yo white man thinks about it/you: you're cool and it's cool. I read them all.

Fun Centrelink discovery: Disability Employment Services providers have limits on what compulsory activities they can put on your job plan, so they might put the meetings as voluntary. The issue? The meetings are always mandatory according to Centrelink. The job plan doesn't actually matter and even if you do what they say you have to do, they can then have you cut off. Great system love it.

In better news: I'm no longer required to interact with them, and instead need to continue seeking volunteer work. Vastly less bad.

[–] Pilk@aussie.zone 6 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Not to mention when you show up and they tell you your provider is on leave/in a meeting/at another site today.

[–] Aradina@lemmy.ml 6 points 8 months ago

That's only happened to me once. Showed up, waiting twenty minutes, no one even told me until an hour later when they called to say he was out sick.

He is almost always late though.

I am tipsy cooking and involves a pressure cooker. If I'm on the news later I'll wave to you all.

[–] Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone 10 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Alright, off I go! Fingers crossed!

Told the wife β€œyou know, I think they’re lying to you” β€œwho?” β€œSquare enix. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the FINAL fantasy, I bet there will be another one!”. I can’t say how satisfying the groan and look on her face was.

Last 30 minutes before my week off starts.

Really struggling to disengage right now. I'm sure a few beers will help

Feeling a bit down about work today. It's the end of a very stressful week and I hate that every question I've been asked this morning I've had to do a "gimmie a minute to find the answer" instead of knowing off the top of my head.

Okay, typing it out makes it sound silly, but it's just a crappy feeling. I have too much responsibility, anxiety and a heaving dose of imposter syndrome this week.

If I get this new job, I'm moving closer to civilisation. I've had enough of the outer suburbs. More than enough.

Enjoy your day everyone ❀️

Just filled out, scanned and sent off the current batch of documents to the conveyancer.

All this adulting...

Omg. How fun is Lego? Good for the soul. Not good for the eyes.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 8 months ago (14 children)

I love Lego. It costs too much, but I love it!

There should be a Lego library where you can borrow a set, build it, then return it. They'd sanitise it between builds. There'd be a fee if you return it without deconstructing it.

I say this because I like putting them together but I don't want to display ugly Lego on my shelves. I'm not leaning that hard into the 40+ year old single male stereotype and I just think they look bad in general.

I got Melbcat's special antibiotics. They're so bitter that she walked around the house drooling and foaming and seems to feel sick. Doesn't want her medicated dinner. :( This is going to be a fun ten days.

I feel snowed under by a lot of things lately

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 7 points 8 months ago

Listening to some sales calls today. I get to be the reason why calls are monitored for training purposes

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 7 points 8 months ago (4 children)

Im getting in on the action today.

My community contribution, not mine but I think it’ll still counts.

Ok, this is awesome, my "boss" that I work with has given me permission put on the NZ vs AUS test match while I'm working at my desk.

My day has gotten so much less boring now.

I want to like you, Spotify DJ.. I really do.. but STOP RECOMMENDING BEYONCE ETC TO ME, YOU GOON!

Also, I started on the vodkas a couple of hours ago. Responsibly. Cheers and welcome to my birth-season: Autumn. Do you pronounce the N in Autumn? How do you even do that? Get out of here, unnecessary N!

15 minutes of housework/ chores and I'm already in a lot of pain

[–] Baku@aussie.zone 6 points 8 months ago (18 children)

I've finally been able to disrespect one of those stupid cattle gate things at Coles. Apparently the robot didn't like that after paying I put my groceries in my backpack. So I walked through them anyway. It started screaming the song of its people ("BE-BE-BE-BE-BE-BE-BEEP"), but that's not my problem. I paid for my damn drink, I don't really care if a robot gets upset about it

Nobody really cared, although the fact my skin is about the same colour as their logo probably helped 🀷🏼

Hello dearest DT. I have an 8.30 meeting at a cafe, so my day is going to start reasonably well

[–] Cendana@aussie.zone 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Drove my wife to South Melbourne. 25 minutes.

Drove the return trip. 55 minutes, which included 2x10 mins of continuous dead stop while the trams, cops, and us drivers in both directions all wait for a protest to roll past.

At least some of the cops seem to be in a good mood, reminding them to turn their flashy lights on and then a few moments later, playfully slammed the door of their colleague's car a few times.

[–] unionagainstdhmo@aussie.zone 5 points 8 months ago (3 children)

By Australian Consumer Law I am entitled to return it. Hence, Pinch punch first day of the month to you

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 8 months ago

I believe you are only entitled to return it if it was defective or not as described.
