I love Lego. It costs too much, but I love it!

I wish there were more decent big sets that weren’t themed to whatever franchise is in fad

My kid gets into some of the franchises, and right now it's Star Wars so $$$$. We keep all the instructions and over the years have accumulated a giant bag and a few organisers of bits. Free play is great fun, put the bag on the table and we'll waste a day building all sorts of stuff. We have sone of his favourites on display but change them up often.

When I was a kid I got no new lego, just a giant denim bag with all sorts of pieces inherited from brothers and various cousins 8-12 years older than me. A good chunk of the instructions were gone too. So in those pre-internet days I just happily built whatever I wanted and figured the very basics of random parts from some meccano set to make a basic steerable car and some kind of winding contraption.

We've built some awesome vehicles from the big bag of bits. Mine always lose in the races though.

Sooo addictive. You might be interested to know that Jecka (similar principle but built differently) have a Jack Russell model or two. Yes, I've been sucked in but I haven't built it yet!

Omg. Need to make him with sticky uppy ears!

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm sure once you got the hang of the connector bits you'd be able to make them sticky up.

I need pics! Mine hasn't made it out of the box yet.

Will do! $320 for the medium one. I will just get small for now. I need pics for when you do yours!

I've just pulled the box out of the cupboard. Ours is a small too. The connecting pins are.... quite small. Like 8mm small. Designed for young eyes small. At least they're white though.

Hahaha.

And young flexible backs too.

Woah. I need this!
