WARNING: READS LIKE A TRAIN WRECK BECAUSE OF EDITS . MAY CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE.

The AMA will be about me an atheist who has been to an islamic exorcism and some other similar things. I mean no hate but it may get controversial or do you guys think it would be a good idea not to host one and of course i will skip questions like names etc. I may not host one if there are no good ways or if you guys think it wouldn't be a good idea . I am not posting this as any kind of politics . To clarify things i am neutral towards all religeons including islam.

EDIT:Some comments are suggesting i post the ama here by adding AMA format will it get taken out or banned by mods ? should i do it ?

EDIT : I does not hate islam well maybw a little but that's not the point . I think in a way every belief could or could not be the real one . I myself kinda believe there could be a being kinda similar to god that theists believe in or nothing at all i don't know for sure . Anyway i dont believe or follow any god from any culture . I also wanted to add that i was going to share stories about the times i went to hindu (wizards ? the guys were said to have possessed the power to put or lift curses , grand wishes. Etc .they are known as pannikars in their culture if anyone wants to look it up though i don't know ig you will find anything ) so this isn't in anyway a hit on islam i just wanted to share my experience . Also i went to these things because some of my loved ones wanted me there for support and they insisted and i couldn't deny and thought it would be interesting any way.

PLEASE FULLY READ THE EDITS BEFORE JUMPING INTO CONCLUSIONS .

EDIT: The reason i said i kinda hate islam is vecause their prophet is a pedo and that isn't the kind of guy everyone should follow but some of them do. And i onece visited a mosque where the people " possesed by shaitan (the muslim demons)" were chained and treated like wild animals and non of the muslim saw anything wrong with that. In my opinion they are people with slight mental issues who were chained and abused and were turned fully mad the gimmick of the mosque was you have to do some activities there and it will reveal people possesed by shaitan .

personally, i am very interested in this particular journey. ive listened to many stories of christians leave their faith, and the mental hurdles you must leap to remove yourself from a tragic environment.

it would be interesting to hear a pov from a different major religion.

didnt even know there was an ama sub

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yeah its too dead not a lot people know about it . On hexbear instance if you wanna check it out .

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

hexbear is hardcore defederating, so not really possible. sorry.

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Why are you sorry i said there was a sub i didn't post there

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 10 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

ahh i thought you had!

the rule is, if you cant find what you need in the 'verse, its up to you to create it.

maybe you need to be the lemmy.world (or wherever) AMA ambassador, starting with yourself as the first?

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

dont wish, do! go create a new AMA community and start a thread!

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 8 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Don't have time to mod man or gal . And besides even if someone started it now the userbase would take a long time to grow .

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

yeah. i spose. the journey has to begin with someone though

There's another AMA at !askmeanything@lemmy.ca which might work. Last post was 3 months ago though.

You're makin it too complicated

Post your AMA on the dead place. If people answer you then great, if they don't then fine. You don't gotta wait for anyone to tell you it's officially approved and open for business. It's just us here, man.

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 0 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Nah man it's like if no one even sees it was there even a point in making one like you know if a tree fall in the forest and no one was there to hear it did it really make a sound question

[–] mozz@mbin.grits.dev 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I gotchu man I’ll go first and you can observe if anything happens

Yeah i commented. I had to search your bio couldn't get from sub even though i sorted new

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Why not use AMA in the title and just AskLemmy it and hopefully people catch on to the convention

Like:

AMA: ______ Here, AMA!

I'd like to start doing that for other niche subs/comms that aren't picking up but still have a valuable format or schtick

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 8 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

It will be taken down or i will get banned becouse of ask lemmy's rules unless if a mod was to tell me it will be okay i don't think i can sadly . I do agree witb you though

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

If not on ML then try the other AskLemmy

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)
[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I've def done it before, can't speak to the popularity or critical acclaim but it can be done from my experience

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I may do it as a last resort or ( do bothing at all)

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

I can't see why it would be a problem if the actual sub is dead. Not everyone views by new

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 10 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Maybe go ahead and post it on the AMA community and then make a crosspost on the !newcommunities@lemmy.world saying you are reviving the AMA community with your AMA. I would message the mods here and see if they'd let you crosspost it here as well. If we want AMAs to be a thing on the fediverse we need communities that are OK with helping host them until the AMA community gets its legs under it

Edit: I noticed you mentioned the AMA community is hosted on hexbear. maybe try starting a new community on an instance that isn't widely maligned and defederated such as Lemmy.world or Lemmy.ml

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You could try !casualconversation@lemmy.world so as long as the main rules are followed there.

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago

Hmm that's a good idea but i am not sure some people would act casual.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 4 points 9 months ago

There is no official AMA community in the feddiverse, anyone can start one on the instance they are registered on and it will be visible to all federated Lemmy instances.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

This is a fantastic post idea, and I don’t know where you should post it, but I really hope I can engage with you, wherever that is. Sorry, I’m kinda useless in this thread.

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 3 points 9 months ago

No fam i am sure you woulda've helped if you can

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Personally I'd prefer if it wasn't posted here. While the audience is larger, that's not what the sub is for. Eventually if a sub is not specific and filled with unpredictable content, people unsubscribe (not that this is bad content)

CasualConversation would be good, otherwise you could also try and advertise the AMA community a bit after posting yours.

Tangently related: I've been thinking about trying an AMA community on our instance, but it's on my list of potential ideas for the future. Once there's more momentum and (edit) { I made a list of people that } that could be invited to do an AMA?

[–] pietervdvn@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

There will never be 'more momentum' if you don't build it. Just kick it off and host this person, others will follow.

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 4 points 9 months ago

Fair enough! That's more my reasoning for how I'm triaging the projects. I've got a few other fediverse things I'm working on

That being said, looks like there's good interest for AMAs so I might bump that up the list a bit

[–] THEDAEMON@lemmy.ml 3 points 9 months ago

Sure fam i'll come if anyone wants me to .
