It's well worth reading Volt Rush: The Winners and Losers in the Race to Go Green By Henry Sanderson, it's a good insight into some of his work with LiPo from a business and supply chain angle along with some of the geopolitical aspects looking forward.

I was just about to post this article (Thankfully lemmy warns you that it might be a duplicate!).

This guy isn't a household name by any stretch but this invention quite literally changed the world. Few people have as far reaching of an impact as he had. Almost 101 years old too. I think he did Good..enough.

I seem to recall hearing a few years ago that the inventor of Li Ion batteries was working on a successor battery technology. Was that him? And did he finish?
