don't forget about Teams - Microsoft Discord

[–] bear_delune@beehaw.org 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I thought it was Microsoft Slack

[–] shapesandstuff@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I hate teams with such a passion, i genuinely got upset reading the comparison

[–] gk99@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

It could be Microsoft Skyp- oh...

[–] BudgieMania@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The only redeemable thing about Teams is that it serves as an example of how you can be worst-in-class for everything, but still succeed somehow

[–] HRDS@vlemmy.net 1 points 1 year ago

It's because everything else is worse. Yes, corporate communication software is that bad.

[–] KIM_JONG_JUICEBOX@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

Who can forget about teams :(

[–] rubii@lm.inu.is 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Funny enough they actually do have their own build of java. https://www.microsoft.com/openjdk

[–] lmaydev@vlemmy.net 4 points 1 year ago

J# was also literally MS Java

[–] KIM_JONG_JUICEBOX@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

Wait, didn’t they have their own implementation of Java in the 90s, so applets could run in their IE browser. But it was intentionally such shit that applets never worked right and it basically killed Java in the browser?

Office365 - Microsoft LibreOffice

Bing - Microsoft Google

[–] abclop99@beehaw.org 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Bing chat: Microsoft ChatGPT

[–] blakerboy777@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Well ChatGPT is Microsoft as well.

[–] jmcs@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

"Just" 49% of it.

[–] nasal_demon@lemmy.fmhy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

That just makes it more funny that Bing is the emotionally unstable version

[–] julianh@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago

You mean Microsoft kde?

[–] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 year ago

Don't forget about Microsoft OpenGL.

[–] Quasar@lemmy.fmhy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You forgot Microsoft iOS… RIP Windows Phones

[–] vracker@reddthat.com 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Or the Microsoft ipod... RIP Zune

[–] Skiptrace@lemmy.one 1 points 1 year ago

The Zune is actually quite serviceable in 2023. I saw a video of someone modifying one to take a Micro SD Card, a Bluetooth Chip and a bigger battery! I don't think there are any modifications to the Operating System you can do, but the Bluetooth off and on is actually piggybacking off the Wifi Switch for power to the BT board.

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I legitimately enjoyed the couple Windows Phones I had. But I think that's an unpopular opinion.

[–] lmaydev@vlemmy.net 1 points 1 year ago

They were actually really solid devices with a great user experience. They just came along too late.

[–] jmcs@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 year ago

For Microsoft Chrome it's literally what it is on PC and Android. In iOS it's Microsoft Safari because Apple doesn't like actual competition.

[–] bear_delune@beehaw.org 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Don’t forget:

-Microsoft App Store

-Microsoft iPad

-Microsoft Galaxy Fold

-Microsoft Gmail

-Microsoft iTunes

-Microsoft Slack

-Microsoft Facebook

-Microsoft Facebook Work

-Microsoft FaceTime

-Microsoft Google Docs

-Microsoft Dropbox

[–] mrcory@beehaw.org 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I find the Microsoft Chrome extra funny due to it being chromium based.

[–] Jinxyface@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

I think that's the joke.

[–] Fuyuhikodate@diggit.xyz 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think i just send them the last one, when ever a coworker ask me to install edge :D

[–] drownedPhoenician@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

MicrosoftChrome.exe sounds like a great name for a virus or something

Try the new cross-platform Powershell!

[–] darknavi@vlemmy.net 1 points 1 year ago
[–] hopolapopola@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

for windows-land, powershell is actually nice, it can do a lot of things and isn't dramatically inferior to bash on a linux machine

[–] schnapsidee@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Azure - Microsoft AWS
