I'm just happy for the red circle, without which I could never have completely understood this meme.
sensible chuckle

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

The red circle is for people who cannot see.

[–] Zerush@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"Now I really get it!"

[–] ErKaf@feddit.de 60 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thanks for the red circle. I nearly didn't notice that comment.

[–] spader312@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Omg does Lenny have a community for unnecessary red circles?

[–] ErKaf@feddit.de 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just searched and didn't find any. Want to create one together? Haha

[–] Jorgelino@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Just searched and didn't find any.

If only there was a red circle to help us find it!

[–] Lord_ToRA@lemmy.world 59 points 1 year ago

I'm so glad that red circle was there. I would have totally missed the joke.

[–] theangryseal@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago

What actually happened is far far worse.

She was the first American Girl doll who could hear, and they’ve gone and made her deaf.

Poor thing.

[–] covert_czar@lemmy.dbzer0.com 37 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ah that's the neat part, rest of them are spy dolls made by nsa

[–] kubica@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago

dolls aren't real

[–] affiliate@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago (3 children)

can someone tell me where in the picture i’m supposed to be looking

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 21 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

First look at slightly above center and read 2 lines in a centered window 80% of image width. Then aim for 95% down, 95% left and read a line 85% of image width.

Always happy to help the visually impaired appear normal in public!

[–] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 8 points 1 year ago

Could you add a flashing arrow pointing to where I should look. One for each step that is. Thanks

[–] dlhextall@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Are you the first doll from American Girl with eyesight loss?

[–] affiliate@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

i just might be

[–] stebo02@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 year ago

top right, thank me later

[–] 30p87@feddit.de 21 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Note that it is not blind. It can still see you.

[–] tilcica@lemm.ee 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] Perfide@reddthat.com 3 points 1 year ago

Whatever you say, Mr. Tom, a dildo lover.

[–] Catsrules@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Also this one comes with hearing aids. So it can still hear you, just not as well as the others.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

"I'm Talky Tina. And I have a cochlear implant."

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Also, why had that American girl been holding the doll captive?

[–] jray4559@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wow, finally, a doll for me!

  • no one
[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

That’s mean. HoH children will love the representation. They have very few relatable characters in media.

[–] NutWrench@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Remember when some cheap company sold a bunch of bald, unfinished Bratz dolls and tried to claim they were going through chemotherapy?

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That sounds amazing but I can't find that by searching for it. Do you have a link?

[–] kubica@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

What was the title trying to say? I'm trying to read it from a different point but no results.

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

The doll has a little hearing aid.

[–] BossDj@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

Short answer is all American Girl dolls come with backstories and related gear. They also publish books with the dolls as the main characters

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] kubica@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

I didn't expect a doll to be characterized as having hearing loss, so nothing was adding up.

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I'm waiting for the first blind one

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well it’s nice to know that their new haunted doll cannot hear us. Unless of course we sign, or otherwise use our hands in an exaggerated manner while speaking.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I suspect the doll with hearing loss knows sign language.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Shit I need to go apologize to my haunted doll.

[–] NessD@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 year ago

WAIT, I’M HAUNTED?

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m presuming American Girl is a company, and not an UnSub

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nah, just a random young female American who likes improsoning toys 🤷

She has a brother named Sid, evidently..

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The thumbnail looks like a toy Sids sister would have actually

[–] Omega_Haxors@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Of course they can, haven't you seen Toy Story?

[–] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Old but gold
