Seems like no matter which feed/sort you choose any communities with pinned posts will always show at the top. Even if I sort by new the pinned posts will remain at the top. It makes me feel like there's not much happening since every time I open Lemmy I see the same top pinned posts. I have to always scroll past them to see any other posts

Is there a reasoning behind why they always show on top of every feed?

This bugs me as well. I only have the one pinned post, so it's just a minor inconvenience right now. But I can see this becoming an issue further down the road

Yeah I could see it becoming increasingly frustrating especially as new communities are added. Imagine if every community has pinned posts? Then there'd be a practical wall of pins you'd have to scroll past to get to new content

Worth mentioning that pinned posts can be global or per-community. Community pinned posts are not applied globally.
