Do we get a heads up like "You're about to suddenly wake up a thousand years ago in England good luck!" BOOSH because otherwise it kinda matters exactly where you get dropped. For me it really wouldn't matter much, I'd be dead pretty quick either way but someone with some skills might have a go at it.

We do get a quick heads up, but ya I would die too probably because that was a vastly different world than what we have today. Especially since we basically own nothing now because it’s 1000 years in the past. I mean, if there’s someone skilled enough, they can just try to take some useful stuff they’re skilled at for survival while they get transported to the past.
Another reason being taken back a thousand years can be terrible is because English was really different back then. If you need help, no one will understand you plus they’ll probably be a little hostile because they don’t understand you.
I would probably try to "invent" something that I already know how it works in the future/present. I would either partially mess it up and be labelled as a lunatic and probably die, or succeed and be labelled as a witch or whatever and probably die. Bottom line is I'd probably die lol
I'd probably join a monastery, because that's where the knowledge and beer should be. And then I'd try to explain the value of hygiene, should save a lot of lives
Good answer. I'd be useless as a peasant. The nobility is probably not going to give me a job, and even if they did, I wouldn't like working for those fuckers. I could try to become a craftman's apprentice, and maybe some of my education might be useful, but this also seems shit and hard, and they don't just take anyone anyway. Monks would probably let you in more easily. My Latin is terrible, but just my overall education would probably be at least somewhat useful. Monks do all sorts of different stuff, I'm sure there's something I could do.
Would we even be able to communicate with anyone? Despite it being an English-speaking country, the language has seen a major shift in the last thousand years.
If language wasn't a barrier, I'd probably completely screw up history. I'm descended from both Scottish and Norwegian families so it would be tough to pick a side. Once I did, well I'm a bit of an expert on trebuchets with some experience in blacksmithing so I'm sure I could make some friends pretty quickly. Add in some knowledge of electricity and maybe I could even make myself out to be a wizard.
I would be surprised and confused as to where I am and how I had gotten there
