How about that. Thanks for the new compulsion.

They also keep the lights on inside the car at night.

[–] XEAL@lemm.ee 44 points 11 months ago (2 children)

They even use additional lights inside cars.

Also, same BS when someone is wearing a biohazard suit and there's a ring of lights inside the helmet that only illuminate the actor's face...

YES! Astronaut helmets too - wouldn't that turn the front visor into a mirror?!

[–] name_NULL111653@pawb.social 10 points 11 months ago

Yes, yes it would.

I've heard they even have heavy cameras in there that aren't strapped down. Very dangerous stuff!

B-b-but that’s illegal, my parents told me so!

It's more just making fun of a thing where parents tell their kids they can't keep the lights on in the car because it's illegal. Not sure how widespread it is, but my parents always told us that as a reason (distracted driving is illegal in many places, but interior lights is not). It's one of those go-to excuses that a parent just throws out when they don't want to deal with something (interior lights does make it harder to see).

I've seen this meme several time now lmao

[–] glibg10b@lemmy.ml 6 points 11 months ago

It's been an example meme in a few meme generator apps for years

I like that they chose a giant actor for this meme that a headrest would not affect. The giantest

Eh, had friends that still used their car cd players back when this meme started popping up.

We should call them neck guards, so people don't just think it's for comfort.
