From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I've been using endeavouros for a while now, but want to switch to a point release because I'm not in a position to do massive updates every few days anymore

Check out Fedora SIlverblue and see if it fits your use case with toolbox.

I jumped to Fedora recently (I was on Endeavor too) and it's been one of the best first impact I had with a distro in a long time: everything is so clean and just works out of the box. I have no particular suggestion except take a look to the spins if you don't like the default Gnome desktop (I love Mate so I went with that).

Oh yeah I'm definitely going with KDE, I'm very much not a gnome person, happy to hear it's been a good experience!

That's honestly a really good advertisement for Fedora. Every Linux beginner ruins a distro or 3 before they learn the ropes
