I've been looking for a translator that doesn't spy on my webpage contents! This looks great

Note that Firefox has this translator built in if all you need is whole-page translation.

... If all you need is western European languages translation. If you need to translate any African or Asian language, you are SOL.

If you need languages other than "western European languages", you're SOL with this offline translator; whether you use it within Firefox or the extension.

Be sure to change the translation engine manually in the settings, the default is google

based on your post, looks like it's not a good translator

If you don't try, you won't know 😉

I have to say, the quality of the English translation doesn't seem great at first glance... but between offline, no tracking, and open source, this is wonderful. Keep up the good work!

It seems it's also possible to add your own translation service.
But, in any case the default is to use google translator so be sure to check it's settings. It's accessible from the installed addons menu of firefox. Click on this addon and then the 3 dots button in the corner, then options.

Same applies for Text To Speech.
