Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Reminder there's a good chance Musk himself is a pedo. Even if you ignore the fact that he is at a minimum okay with rape including of children as he's a Trump supporter, one of the first big things that reached wide public consciousness showing what a shitbag he is was when he randomly started calling the one guy a pedo based on absolutely nothing in a way that felt like hyper projection during the whole "kids stuck in a cave" thing when the guy pointed out how shitty Musk's rescue idea was and why it wouldn't work

Before that day, he was just another rich guy to me, a bit quirky and eccentric, someone who had some good ideas for our space industry that needed a good kick in the ass and had the money to make it happen. Space Jesus.

That day was the day the image of him shattered for me. Then came the Dogecoin shit. Now I'm hoping someone, the government, or someone else, anyone, takes SpaceX from him so he can't get in the way of Starship development and fuck up another good thing. We are so close to 100% reusability, something the Space Shuttle was supposed to do for us.

That was grade A projection if I ever saw any.

Matt Gaetz using the DOJ as a hammer for "justice":

Merrick Garland something something "hammer of justice.":

Anyone have a "The hammer is my penis" meme handy from Dr. Horrible?

Everyone's a hero in their own way.

[–] Gaspar@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 hours ago

You and you and mostly me and you!

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

And "Justice" was the name of one of those 17yo's he paid

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 hours ago

♩♫ ..and 'justice' was her name--ohhhhhhhhhhhh! ♫♩

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Your penis fucks under age girls high on coke? Oof poor choice of words.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

It's from Dr. horrible. Did the link work for you? It didn't for me, so I edited it out

[–] ricecake@sh.itjust.works 19 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Why the fuck do we care what musk thinks about anything? Jesus fuck just ignore the asshole. His endorsement means nothing.

[–] SkavarSharraddas@gehirneimer.de 6 points 3 hours ago

Because not enough people laughed at his bullshit, so now too many people take him seriously (which is true for a lot of the banana republicans).

[–] natecox@programming.dev 19 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

He’s being handed the keys to a government position allowing him to make decisions that will impact American lives, potentially with impacts to others as well; for the first time ever caring about what he thinks is actually wise.

[–] anarchrist@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Not to be pedantic ,but is it really a government position if it doesn't actually exist?

[–] TimeSquirrel@kbin.melroy.org 7 points 4 hours ago

DHS didn't exist when I was a kid. Didn't take them long to create it though.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 14 points 5 hours ago

Didn't you hear? He bought the President.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

That must be his drug-fueled orgy nickname. Self-appointed, naturally. As opposed to Trump's orgy nickname, Jaundiced Toad.

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 15 points 5 hours ago

He means gaetz will smash the vestiges of justice so he can get away with his child abuse crimes

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

It's that what gatez called himself after downing Red Bull and Viagra and then fucked a minor?

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

When I picture Judge Dredd, Matt Gaetz never comes to mind...

[–] raynethackery@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Well, only if he was in an ISO cube.

[–] DrSleepless@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

More of a rock hammer than a regular hammer
