My brain hurts. I think it's supposed to say: throwback to when I found this gem in a value village in Houston, Texas. Gym was a stretch, otherwise pretty funny.

It’s spelled phonetically. Texans tighten up the long e to sound like an elongated short i. When becomes win, gem becomes gym.
This physically hurts to read.
There are spelling mistakes in 3 of the 4 lines.
For those who don't get it https://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling
Genuinely confused where people would put an A in definitely? Or why someone would spell weird as wierd??
"definately," i guess? if i wasn't sure and sounded it out, there'd be an "a" in that spot. great, now i have to go watch videos of people pronouncing it to find out if i've been saying it weird my whole life.
"wierd" maybe comes from not realizing it's an exception to the ol' "i before e" rule. or just accidentally swapping them.
i think I've misspelled it "defenitely" or definetely" before but it doesn't sound like an a at all to me
also the i before e rule is useless, there's like more exceptions than words that follow it

yeah i like the longass song they had to write at the end of this article to show how the rule would actually read if it was accurate
The horrible English takes away from the actual humor of the shirt TBH. It is almost like proper English isn't important anymore.

The punchline distracts from the humor of the shirt?
Unintelligibility of the simple English language has unfortunately become the norm - RIP the English language
Why don’t you try Swahili
