Alternative Nation : The Fediverse's largest alternative and indie music community! All things alternative music, from 80s college rock to today's indie and all the amazing alternative music in between. Welcome home, music nerds!
Some of y'all may remember MTV's Alternative Nation or 120 Minutes, awesome programs & incredible ways to discover #music back in the 80s & 90s...
Welcome, to the Fediverse edition!

Share youtube, songwhip, spotify, bandcamp links, music memes, album art, articles, whatever! But avoid links to directly download music (don't want to get Lemmy.world in trouble). Songwhip links always appreciated!

The Golden Rule: Music taste is subjective so don't be a gatekeeping asshole. There's no "bad music", only music you like or don't like.
We Are A Community: So no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or spam.

This thread should be a (literal) banger! Canโt wait to hear what yโall post.
Recently, I destroyed my ears playing Liveโs โPillar of Davidsonโ https://youtu.be/PJuzjekLbOw
That's my "mowing the lawn music" sorted for the day !
friggin' Song 2. I don't even need to link to it. You can already hear it in your head.
_### WHOOOO HOOOOO!!_
Edit: since I'm back in the 90s I'm going to throw in burden in my hand as a bonus.
Edit2: and since it's so on the nose: Titus Andronicus - Dimed Out
Idles is some high energy fun that's always good to crank up.
This is black midi's noisiest and most non-sensical song but I can't help myself when this one comes on.
great picks!!
to me, yeah, it's like you are listening to some music, then that song comes on and you go, "awww yeah!" and crank that shit upppppp!
The Hellfire Club by Thornhill
I really recommend this band! I love their style. Kinda metalcore alternative rock alternative metal stuff. This is the song that introduced me to them and I feel it's definitely a song to turn up loud
Deftones-y. I like it!
pere ubu - 30 seconds over tokyo.
but i always crank up fistful of love by anthony and the johnsons.
it's the crescendo and brass i think.
The song to begin whatever playlist comes out of this thread: The Hives - Come on! (Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, YouTube Music)
Sponge - Molly (Sixteen Candles)
Not only does it beg to be cranked up, but your foot gets a little heavier on the gas pedal. So good.
truth, ESPECIALLY with this thread.
adding another from a recent post: https://lemmy.world/post/3138221
It's the end of the worrrrld as we know it! And I feel fiiiiiiiiiiineeee FINE!
