Oh there is a non-fiction book you need to read that explains all of Woodstock, named Barefoot In Babylon by Bob Spitz

Fascinating read. 10/10 recommend.

Woodstock was meant to be a recording studio and the concert was just supposed to kick it off. Then shit got out of hand, long long before the concert, and shit getting out of hand.

This is a great question. I wish more people would see this. I feel like someone should be able to answer this from living memory still.

I’m guessing rock radio which would have been probably THE platform at the time apart from the odd late night tv appearances.
