I was hoping this was real :(

Dammit, I ate the onion until your comment. I was thinking Mexico might build some sort of wall to keep the riff raff out of Mexico.

[–] Tobberone@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago

What if we changed it to "Mexican warns of remorseless criminals north of the boarder"?

[–] username_unavailable@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Omg, I chewed that whole bite without realizing it wasn't an apple...

It would be deeply, deeply ironic if Mexico decided to build a wall to keep US out.

Tightened up visa requirements, making it require an act of Congress to be able to visit Cancun.

I predict a brexit-like reaction from the alt-right.

"I wanted a wall but not against me!"

wait but, if Mexico builds a wall and pays for it, wouldn't Trump just claim it as a yuge win?

[–] Guy_Fieris_Hair@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

This was his plan the whole time.

[–] Crikeste@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

That’s only if the guards are ours; they won’t be in this scenario.

Somehow Mexico's wall would be racist and an affront to American "Freedoms".

The right would be calling for war before the first brick was laid.

Irony is long dead. This headline could easily be real fucking news.

How many politicians have cartels assassinated in Mexico again?

[–] Guy_Fieris_Hair@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

I think we need some cartels...

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The cartels aren't assassinating people that don't fight political corruption.

[–] Rolder@reddthat.com 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Well, they also assassinate journalists, environmentalists, other notable activists too

[–] Guy_Fieris_Hair@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Journalists..... maybe... but the rest of this makes them sound pretty mean.

Probably got a few out here in a couple places. Never see any of them outside their houses but their trucks are moved

As a convicted felon, he's already barred from thirtysomething countries. If Mexico isn't yet one, she could totally fix that.
