I heard good things about new patch so I gave the free fly a shot last week....

A decade of development and I couldn't even complete a lot of the things I was trying to do, it was so laggy that it wasn't even registering actions I was taking to progress the starter quest and the servers crashed 2 or 3 times just when I was trying to get off the starter planet making me repeat the "tutorial". I feel like even if it was good, it's a game that now you have to spend 10 hours on youtube trying to figure out all the in game systems and what you want to do

The problem really is the servers. There was a golden day or 2 just after the 3.23 patch launched and before everyone jumped on after hearing about it where things were running so well. Right now the servers are overloaded with people back to check out the big patch and new players from ILW. When the servers get full and errors start building up is when things get nasty. Their server meshing in 4.0 can't come soon enough.

Honestly, that is what hurt the experience more than anything, not having the capacity to support an event that is meant to show off what your game can do and hopefully entice new players (assuming that's what the free fly events are for) is just going to leave a bad impression on people just checking out the game. I tried several times over a span of 3-4 days to get some footing, but found myself just having to Alt+F4 in most cases.

If the servers actually worked, I could have looked up a video or 2, tried out a few free ships (assuming a new player can find the event which is an entirely different issue), etc. But all I'm left with is no desire to even buy a starter pack.

What is going to happen first. We making it to Mars or this game getting release?

An optimist I see. I would be surprised if this game ever got released

The biggest scam in gaming ever.

I was so excited for this game in 2012. It was going to be the perfect hybrid of two of my favorites, Freelancer and X3. 12 years later, I barely even play anything except the latest souls game and the occasional grand strategy dad game that I’ll be obsessed with for a week and never touch again. What a waste.

You play X4 though? That game eaaaats my time its so enjoyable

No, it looks amazing but by the time it came out I was already pretty over it. 15 years ago I would’ve been obsessed with it. I am glad to see it’s still receiving DLC though.

I used to love these games that were giant simulation sandboxes with massive scope where you start off as nothing and grind your way up to the top, whether by fighting or trading or crime or whatever. And I loved sci fi and fantasy settings. For whatever reason, I completely lost interest in all of that, and moved on to other hobbies.

Hello, Dr. Smart, you forgot to take your meds again, didn't you?

Go complain about PSN, or the ROG Ally being a toaster for microSD cards. Anyone still involved with this game has made their peace with whatever the outcome will be.
