It is completely redone in full 3D, even with VR support!

The animations look on par with the original zero particles or intricacies just mostly simple transforms and rotations, There is so much overhead in this type of game and the OG's really were graphical showcases, even if they we heavily pre-rendered we now have that tech and with them using UE5 I would have liked to see a lot more with pushing the genre forward this looks more on par with a mod/fan project.

Agreed.

Maybe the trailer leaves out a lot that you’d notice in game but it def didn’t make me scream “holy crap” the way Myst and Riven did back then
