I just received this email saying that the response "did not respond directly to the request of the petition"

You recently signed the petition “Require videogame publishers to keep games they have sold in a working state”: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/659071

The Petitions Committee (the group of MPs who oversee the petitions system) has considered the Government’s response to this petition. They felt the response did not respond directly to the request of the petition. They have therefore asked the Government to provide a revised response.

When the Committee receives a revised response from the Government, we will publish this and share it with you.

Thanks, The Petitions team UK Government and Parliament

Long form competition they've become far too complacent and not rewarding or pushing long form creators.

I don't see an issue seems to be a lot of gatekeeping on age where there didn't used to be.

We allow it for everything else like buses HGV's here's the steps to get into a tank.

"Training for the role

Step1 Your initial military training teaches you how to be a soldier, covering everything from fieldcraft to how to handle a rifle.

If you join as a Junior Soldier (under 17 years and 6 months), you’ll do a 40-week basic military training (long) course at Harrogate.

If you join as a Regular Soldier (over 17 years and 6 months), you’ll do the regular 14-week adult basic training.

Step 2 You head to Bovington, Dorset, for 20 weeks of specialist training to develop your technical skills. You will complete your driving licence (if you don't already have it) and then move on to your tracked vehicle licence (the H licence) before getting to grips with driving the 62-tonne Challenger 2. You will also learn how to maintain and fix the Challenger 2 as well as use the radios."

The website is literally only there to placate people from taking to the streets, and it works really well. I don't think there has ever been a petition that hasn't been fucked off by the government, at most it gets to a table of about 6 people who webcam themselves before chucking it in the bin and going for an expense paid lunch in Canary Wharf.

Ultimately is comes down to us to get back to only supporting games that we can own but as a collective gamers just go with the Malibu Stacy with the new hat and then complain after rewarding the boardroom of these companies with good returns. I'm so glad Ross has kicked this issue into the light but just signing a petition and thinking you've done enough is only the pre-cursor.

Are you aware of the UK government?

This is the only reason rules exist, not to stop people doing a thing but to be able to enforce or defect responsibility when they do.

One of my most hated things in the dying days of Reddit is people having to put the /s because of all the mass down voting from users that didn't get a post was a joke.

When I came here it seemed that wasn't the case but I've noticed over the last month a lot of users using it or having -28 points for an off the cuff comment.

I might be just be a bit too bothered by the need to use it.
