A bad deep bruise can surprisingly ache a lot, but pain will ease up over a few hours and then will only be tender if touched while it is healing. Bonus is you might get your very own aurora colours in the injured area. (Source: am clumsy and have walked into more towbars and furniture than I would like) Of course, if pain doesn’t dull down overnight you should get it checked out.

Thanks. It's feeling about 15% better than it did when I posted that. Though I'm not sure whether that's the medicine or just usual healing. I'm guessing it will probably subside into a regular bruise overnight, bit I'll see a doctor if it's not any better
