I managed to walk into a door handle earlier and it really fucked up my arm. I don't know how hard I walked into it, but I'm surprised it didn't go through me. Instant bruising, and I can't lie on it. Neither panadol or Nurofen helped at all

If pain persists, see a doctor.

Seriously. I once hit my elbow so hard it blew out the nerve cluster there. My arm was paralysed for a week.

Wild. I don't think this is that bad, my arm is fine besides a lot of pain in that's section. It's about midway up my arm, between my shoulder and elbow. I'll probably be fine

Fun fact: when you tear your rotator cuff you feel it mid-upper arm, not your shoulder. I'm not saying you tore it, but 'yeah not that bad' can turn out to be distinctly unfun as you age. If it's not healing right, or still fucked by friday, DOCTOR. .

Mid way is mostly muscle - Biceps brachii, brachalis with triceps in the back of the arm. They'll hurt today but there's no overly exposed nerve areas like the side of the neck or in the armpit (axilla). You may want to consider ibuprofen or a compression sleeve if you have one on hand. Worst case make a sling so the muscle doesn't have to support the weight of the arm. It sounds like you'll develop an intermuscular haematoma aka corky aka charlie horse, they suck but there's not a lot that can be done about them.

Maybe. At the moment, even a loose tee shirt is hurting

go to emergency if you haven't already

A bad deep bruise can surprisingly ache a lot, but pain will ease up over a few hours and then will only be tender if touched while it is healing. Bonus is you might get your very own aurora colours in the injured area. (Source: am clumsy and have walked into more towbars and furniture than I would like) Of course, if pain doesn’t dull down overnight you should get it checked out.

Thanks. It's feeling about 15% better than it did when I posted that. Though I'm not sure whether that's the medicine or just usual healing. I'm guessing it will probably subside into a regular bruise overnight, bit I'll see a doctor if it's not any better

Definitely see a doctor soon if possible, could have hit a nerve or a ligament.
