Mine was either mastodon or matrix. I got into both at the same time. What are some other fediverse sites for beginners?

@Bicyclejohn It depends. If you want to try out new stuff, then yes. Or if you want a network with the feature setthat it has, and which can communicate with pretty much all other networks on the Fediverse. Also, one of the Features of Friendica is that you can have your account automatically reshare everything you post from other accounts. So if you want to have your one-stop-shop for everything Fedi, do try it out ๐Ÿ˜

Edit: thought I was in a different thread lol

Is there an official app or anything for friendica?

@Bicyclejohn Nothing official, but there are certain 3rd party apps listed on the website, or you can use Relatica. The webapp also seems to work well with the default themes.

Has a gone else used relatica. I noticed its a zip file. Don't want to unzip before I get feedback

@Bicyclejohn on Android? I tried it for a while, so it is safe. You can always scan it if you have some doubts (virustotal scans apk files as well iirc).

What I do not like about the app is that the dev seems to kinda hide some Friendica features for the sake of user-friendliness. For example, I couldn't figure out how to add titles to posts, nor did I see how to dislike a post. And you kinda have to keep in mind the BBCode formatting as there are no suggestions, like on the web for example:

I'd try it once again tho to see how things evolved.
