I would not have expected that, Japan seems so slow to change.

Was there a campaign against the gendered dress code in your town?

Have there been gendered dress code campaigns for a while now as far as you know?

No obvious campaigns. This school year was the second to implement it AFAIK. perhaps not all schools. The one I am familiar with is the top public school based on academics.

Schools no longer use くん (kun) or ちゃん (chan) after students names, instead opting for さん (san) which is gender neutral. This is from elementary school.
