A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

I think coffee is more like a potion that temporarily increases a stat, only for it to cause a bigger decrease once it wears off.
Coffee does not wake you up, it allows you to ignore that you are tired for a short time.
So for both of them, they temporarily let you ignore status effects from a condition, but you still take damage till you either fix the underlying problem (rest) or wait out the repair process (sickness)
Coffee is a stamina potion with a debuff when it wears off.
And also is a diuretic which causes people to need to poop. Not great for battle.
Similarly, cough syrup doesn't actually fix anything. It just makes you cough a bit less while still being sick.
IIRC, diuretics make people pee, not poop. Caffeine stimulates the colon which makes people need to poop, which is unrelated to it being a diuretic. Diuretics can cause constipation because they pull water from the digestive tract.
Diuretics make people release fluids. That mostly comes as peeing but can also impact bowel function.
It's very common for people to need to poop shortly after drinking coffee.
Yes they do, but not because it is a diuretic. The mechanism that stimulates muscles in the colon is different from the mechanism that pulls water and salt into the kidneys. The way diuretics impact bowel function is actually by taking water from the digestive tract, which does not cause people to need to poop. The muscle stimulation does that.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Yea. Coffee is hydrating, just a tiny bit less so (i.e. negligibly) than water.
