@spaduf you understand that there is no such thing as a persistent western “self” so you create various selves based on what’s needed for a particular social role. You are also very aware of the costs of a long term relationship so you are very careful about who you invest in. You also know that women want someone who makes them feel safe, which can be a difficult.

@spaduf you also know that certain elements of third wave feminist ideology run contrary to human nature itself and often say some really negative things about the person holding those ideas. In that situation, you know that attempts to make her feel safe and connected can also be viewed as misogynistic.

@spaduf you also tend to read the worst of feminist philosophy as satire to the point you can jokingly call yourself, Captain Patriarchy, Master of Mansplaining. You also know that this reaction would hurt certain people’s feelings, so you keep it to yourself. You can, however, promote specific female viewpoints using standpoint epistemology.
