The reason Pelosi's doing this is because she's scared shitless of the future but can't come to terms with her part in this mess. If you listen to her speak candidly about Trump (the NYT interview is a great example) you can tell she legitimately fears for her life after what happened to her husband. As a result, she actually believes that the only way to save the country is to move right. She's wrong of course and the data bears that out but there's a large contingent of the Democratic base that agrees and she doesn't have to look far for a permission structure.

Based on the most active servers in that list, I would guess that either something is up with those numbers or the biggest instance actually is a let's play fan website, and a significant amount of the growth is coming from similar projects.

It is definitely not because of the mobile app, however.

No my non American friend, that's December 9th. As in a week ago.

Supposed to be traditional.

It's not uncommon in a lot of industries for more traditional enterprises to refuse to do business with these sorts of companies.

I honestly have a hard time believing it was ideology and not the good, old fashioned inability of boomers to let go of power.

Edit: Not talking about the Democratic establishment. Speaking specifically about Biden refusing to step down until it was too late.

You're absolutely right. The problem as I see it is rather that the modern Democratic base have largely failed to integrate feminist and worker-oriented messaging targeting men into their campaigning. Maybe more importantly, they have failed to integrate it into their day-to-day conception of liberation.

From the Article:

It’s hard to think of a time when the Democratic Party was more bereft of real leaders. As the losing presidential candidate, Kamala Harris is not held in warm regard, and her continuing fundraising efforts have added to the irritation. Joe Biden, who accomplished more than his critics give him credit for, is going out on a low note.

Usually, the chair of the Democratic National Committee is a technocrat and not the face of the party. But this time could be different.

A number of names have been mentioned in the press coverage and in self-promotion, but it’s clear that the two finalists will be Ken Martin, 51, Minnesota party chair, and his neighbor, Ben Wikler, 43, who chairs the Wisconsin state party. Both are excellent party-builders, both are substantive progressives, and both have earned wide respect. The election is set for February 1.

From the Article:

For weeks following Joe Biden’s disastrous performance, his campaign publicly maintained the illusion that he was still well-positioned to defeat Donald Trump. Privately, they knew otherwise. As Pod Save America co-host Jon Favreau revealed days after the election:

After the debate, the Biden people told us that the polls were fine, and Biden was still the strongest candidate. They were privately telling reporters, at the time, that Kamala Harris couldn’t win. […] Then we find out, when the Biden campaign becomes the Harris campaign, that the Biden campaign’s own internal polling, at the time when they were telling us he was the strongest candidate, showed that Donald Trump was going to win 400 electoral votes.

The implications of this are staggering, and it should be treated as a massive scandal.

And they are just as fragile.

If I can make one recommendation to everybody here, it's plan for the likely scenarios. You should have at least 3 plans for the future based on a best-medium-worst case scenario, because when things start to move quick, having a disaster plan is life saving.

To expand on this, look at Trump's plan and build a best-medium-worst case scenario for each of his major campaign promises, and apply a likely timeline. We have a pretty good idea that the priorities will be: Mass Deportation, Project 2025, and Political Retribution. Think about how likely each of these things is to succeed and what the potential ramifications are. ALWAYS consider the worst case scenario.

Notable events to have explicit plans for: Deadly Force Against Protestors, Calls For Mass Violence, and Purging of the Media. Think about which groups and people around you will be helpful to either survival or resistance. Start building alliances and connections in your local community NOW.

Because the democrats haven't made a serious appeal to them in a decade. We need to turn bell hooks into actionable political messaging.

Creator coops like nebula are absolutely where things need to end up on the higher usage end.

Ok but for real tho. The average American severely underestimates how far you can get on rice, beans, lentils and chickpeas.

It's honestly so hard to take them seriously.
