Oh shoot, I wasn't actually trying to go anti-solar, I was trying to joke about how even when we're trying to be very careful to not cause mass destruction in an isolated area, we still manage to murder thousands of birds each year as whoopsies. Imagine how much more damage we're doing when we're not paying attention and are using explosions that fart out toxins and solar oven lining instead of highly focused sunlight.
The major point I'm making is that it was AFTER we incinerated and blinded a fuck-ton of birds that we slowly started fixing the problem over the course of years and have determined that the thousands we're still killing accidentally is acceptable collateral in the name of energy production. Well, now we're finally getting people to notice, report, and possibly address the issue because there's an undeniable correlation between how we're producing energy and mass bird die-offs. We have barely begun to refocus the metaphorical mirror and are nowhere near the levels that will be considered acceptable collateral damage. That acceptable level of collateral damage is going to be devastating... But at least a handful of people will have had the opportunity to be unfathomably rich for a little while.
