America when someone is mentioning the Tulsa race massacre or the Kent state shootings or the 1985 MOVE bombing or Ruby Ridge
edit: downvotes won’t make these things go away as much as you’d like them to. cope and seethe. I know this kind of nuanced stuff is hard for you chuds
Oh you mean things that I, an American (anarchist), complain about constantly? You forgot Waco, The Tuskeegee Experiment, MK Ultra, MK Naomi, COINTELPRO, Wounded Knee and SPEEDING! Ok that last one was from Liar, Liar, but still, as an American I point to all this and more as to why one can't trust government, and our current government has yet to make me and my entire family disappear about it, funny enough. I may not trust them but there are clear differences.
Tell you what, why don't you blow up a pic of the Kent State Massacre, make it into a sign, take it to Kent State, and use it to protest the US gov.
Then make another sign, with this picture
and take it to Tiennanman Square to protest the Chinese government. See which one treats you better.
I think you will find a whole lot less Westerners denying their past than Chinese...
Yep. There's a large difference between a nation who says "it didn't happen and if it did they deserved it" and one that says "yeah we did some fucked up shit. It was fucked up and bad"
genuinely asking - please give me your sources on where the US government has openly and honestly taken responsibility for and denounced all the things I mentioned
Apologies for slavery and segregation.
I didn’t mention either one of those. You guys really need to work on your reading comprehension
You know what? I'll just give you what you're looking for while taking a shit and then never think of you again.
Get fucked.
What they're doing is called 'sealioning". You finally landed on the proper response ("Get fucked.").
Quite literally the first thing when you google "US government apology"
With all due respect (none), go be a tankie elsewhere
Yikes, someone didn’t even bother to read the article they’re sourcing. How embarrassing.
edit: also, I think you might want to find a different word (e.g., not tankie) to refer to an anti-government political stance. Likely just a buzzword you heard that kinda rolls off the tongue, I’m guessing
Source?
Coming from someone living in a "Western" country that genocided the native population (guess which one!) that will either not admit it, will say "that's what happens in war," or just start screaming incoherently, this is incorrect.
I hate when I’m trying to talk to my friends, family and co-workers and they all start screaming.
That’s why these days I wear ear protection because once you lose hearing you’ll never get it back again.
I learned about the genocide in school. They definitely did not paint the Westerners as the good guys. So I would definitely say that this "Western" country admits it.
Yeah, the genocidal colonialists are really causing a copium shortage here
the horrifying actions of the US dont justify the horrifying actions of China
I’d appreciate a screenshot of where I said that
Hint: "What about...."
normally there are several ways to say something
That’s very right, good job! Unfortunately though, nothing in my comment said that US is equally bad as China. China has its own horrific and unjustifiable travesties, and the US does too.
Every single country does terrible shit. Just because it’s a different flavour of awful doesn’t make it more or less awful in general. As much as Americans would always like to have things as simple as BAD GUY and GOOD GUY, reality is pretty much always more nuanced than that. Not my fault that the people here only know a western-centric capitalist viewpoint.
We don’t get arrested when we talk about these things.
And that’s the difference. Stay butthurt ❤️
America does indeed have political prisoners.
Irrelevant to the argument ♥️
Lot of reactionary morons in this thread
Not getting arrested means that your actions are absolutely no threat to those in power. Revel in your impotence.
Edit: Speaking of impotence, here come the downvotes LOL
No, we just get arrested and killed when we protest and act against the government’s wishes.
But keep spouting off about your freeze peach, my glutes aren’t hurting a bit 😉
Literally their only response to anything
ain’t my fault he forgot that two things can exist simultaneously
Literally the response in this thread lol
Yeah, that’s a list of well documented horrendous shit that everyone knows about because our media is more or less functional and access to information isn’t as restrictive as some other places.
We recognize the horrors of all of those.
Cope and seethe, numbnuts.
The government that perpetuated them sure as hell doesn’t. Now run along and bitch about some random wedge issue distraction while the adults are talking.
