Hope the murder charge sticks when they find his dumb ass. I don’t care if the kids were speaking demonic; you want to send something off the bridge? Do the the world a favor and send yourself

German here: if they find him, it probably will. Our justice system is not perfect, but we can usually be proud of the results.

Seriously. If you’re so insecure that you argue with children you’re already a child yourself. If you feel the need for violence toward a child, I don’t think I want you sharing this planet.

[–] BackOnMyBS@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (2 children)

My anger says that if they want to be violent towards children, then we can throw them in with a polar bear to see what they think about stronger and larger predators attacking smaller more vulnerable people.

This hits, anyone who does stuff like that is literally a coward. Or a pyschopath.

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Sounds like a healthy lesson for them.

[–] Rogue_General@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Technically it's the opposite of healthy 🙃 But it is a necessary lesson!

Them being...?

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago

*attempted murder

Just want to make sure that people reading the headline, but not the article, the kid survived the attack and is in a hospital.

*attempted murder

[–] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nah they definitely will considering this is a clear case of hate crime that ended in murder + it's the Russia-Ukraine situation

[–] Heastes@lemmy.world 55 points 1 year ago (2 children)

this is a clear case of hate crime that ended in murder

The kid fortunately survived.

[–] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Glad that the kid survived, but it's still a hate crime

[–] theKalash@feddit.ch 21 points 1 year ago (2 children)

There is no "hate crime" in German law though. He'll be charged with attempted murder.

[–] barsoap@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

In this specific case yes, hate counts as base motive and escalates manslaughter charges to murder, as murder is manslaughter with base motive.

[–] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He's still going to jail for attempted infanticide, and I imagine that for a long time

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

10-year-olds aren't infants. It was attempted murder.

Just correcting misinformation, no need for panties to get in a twist

[–] Yoru@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

oh my bad, the way you worded it made it sound like you were saying "nobody died so what's the big deal)

[–] ryannathans@lemmy.fmhy.net 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol it's hard to universally convey tone in text across all cultures

[–] Yoru@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

yeah, very true.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I had to reread the article because I thought I missed something. The 10 year old survived the attack and is in a hospital.
